The King Sejong Institute Foundation executed the second Sejong Korean Language Assessment (SKA) for overseas KSI graduates and potential students from May 27 (Saturday) to June 4 (Sunday).

The SKA provided an exhaustive measure of Korean communication skills across four domains: listening, reading, writing, and speaking for those learning Korean as a second or foreign language. The assessments were engineered to measure Korean language proficiency from beginner to advanced levels, independent of the test-taker's level. Therefore, candidates could validate their proficiency level based on their scores.

On Saturday, May 27, the Listening/Reading/Writing test was administered at 23 Sejong Institutes, and the Speaking test was conducted via remote interviews from Sunday, May 28, to Sunday, June 4, at each location. The results were individually notified to the candidates within 60 days of the test date.

The inaugural SKA, conducted in September of the previous year, was successfully concluded at 27 KSIs across 20 countries. From this year onwards, the Foundation plans to administer the test three times a year in May (2nd), September (3rd), and November (4th). The Foundation is also preparing to pilot the SKA assessment in a phased and adaptive manner using internet technology this year, making it more convenient and faster for candidates to gauge their skills.

"We will actively support the stable implementation of the SKA at local KSIs, and we will expand the number of locations where test takers can utilize the assessment results," stated Lee Hai-young, President of KSIF.
