On March 20, KSI Dubai held the “Korean Lantern Workshop” at Zayed University UAE in Dubai.
The event aimed to introduce students to Korean culture through traditional Korean games and crafts. Not only KSI Dubai students but also many locals participated in the event, experiencing the recent Hallyu craze in the Middle East.

The event was open to not only KSI Dubai students but also anyone in the Zayed interested in participating. Participants worked diligently to make traditional Korean lanterns. KSI Dubai students also helped assemble the lanterns and shared the meaning of Korean traditions. We were able to learn a little bit about Korea naturally as we talked a lot about Korea over the light fixture that we worked together to complete.

The event showcased the interest in Korean culture in the Middle East, despite being small in scale. KSI Dubai plans to continue organizing various Korean cultural events to promote the King Sejong Institute and Korea in Dubai.
