KSIF signed a business agreement with Language Promoting Agency (LPA) of the Republic of Uzbekistan to support the nation’s spread of the Korean language.
LPA oversees the policies and practices of foreign languages in Uzbekistan. LPA is a government agency that was founded in May 2021 for the globalization and the growth of foreign language proficiency of the people of Uzbekistan, and it manages a total of 10 foreign languages, including Korean. The Agency’s main job involves designing policies around the foreign languages as well as operating TV and radio broadcasting channels, conducting foreign language proficiency tests, training foreign language instructors, and international collaborations.
The terms of the business agreement, which was concluded on April 12th, cover specific collaboration areas to spread the education of Korean language in Uzbekistan, including △a KSI co-operated by the Foundation and the Agency, △re-training of Uzbekistan Korean teachers, and △utilizing Korean content developed by the Foundation on Uzbekistan’s education broadcasting programs.
“We anticipate this business agreement to help the Korean language education in Uzbekistan gain momentum with the newly opening KSI. We also expect the skill of Uzbekistan Korean teachers to improve tremendously,” remarks President LEE Hae-Young of the Foundation. “The on- and off-line Korean language support and the re-training of Korean teachers in Uzbekistan will open up a new door for the expansion of the Korean language and the Korean culture.”
