Business Agreement Signed by KSIF, Hancom and Yoondesign Group

  1. KSI font developed to spread the beauty of the Korean language and uniqueness of Hangeul
  2. Adding KSI font to Hancom Office to spread Korean at home and abroad

On Mar. 23, 2022, the King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) signed a business agreement with the Hancom Group (president: Kim Sang-cheol) and Yoondesign Group (CEO: Pyun seok-hoon) at the KSIF Grand Conference Room for the development of the KSI font and the spread of the Korean language at home and abroad.

They agreed to ▲jointly develop two KSI fonts; work together to ▲spread the fonts at home and abroad; and ▲utilize the fonts by adding the fonts to Hancom Office. The KSIF expects that the development and distribution of user-friendly and practical Hangeul fonts will continue attracting global attention to the Korean language and culture.

According to the agreement, the three parties will jointly develop the KSI fonts that represent KSI. They will then add the fonts to Hancom Office around October this year to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the KSIF so that people around the world including Korea can have access to them.

The KSIF president Lee Hai-young expects that the business agreement will contribute to spreading the beauty and uniqueness of the Korean language and Hangeul worldwide, adding that the KSIF would continue working hard to disseminate the Korean language and culture using the KSI fonts.

Byun Seong-joon, vice-president of the Hancom Group expressed his hope for the KSI learners around the world to appreciate the unique beauty and value of Hangeul while using the KSI fonts ─ adding that the Hancom Group will continue working together with the KSIF and support its effort to globalize Korean culture as well as Hangeul.

Pyun Seok-Hoon, CEO of Yoondesign Group, expects that the KSI fonts will be recognized as the fonts that represent Hangeul and Korean culture education beyond simply Hangeul fonts to people around the world. He added, “Yoondesign Group will do its best to support the development of the KSI fonts and ultimately contribute to spreading globally the KSI fonts as the brand of Hangeul typography.
