The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) provided Korean language education materials to 70 Korean language education institutions for public purposes.
In December, KSIF sent Korean language education materials to 70 education institutions in Korea which operate Korean language courses for public purposes targeting North Korean migrant youth, marriage migrant women, foreign workers, and so on.
Since November, KSIF has surveyed the demand for the provision of educational materials for education institutions for North Korean migrant youth and Korean language education institutions affiliated with local governments across the country. Based on the survey results, KSIF provided 17,000 Korean textbooks including “Sejong Korean” and 530 units of various learning materials for use in Korean language classes, such as Korean word cards. This is the first time that KSIF supported Korean language education institutions with public purposes on a large scale.
Kang Hyounhwa, the President of KSIF said, “While KSIF has provided Korean language education materials overseas for the purpose of public interest for diplomatic missions, it is the first time to provide educational materials for domestic institutions on a large scale.” She added, “KSIF will actively provide support both in Korea and other countries for the matters related to Korean language education for public purposes.
