An Opportunity to Experience Royal Court Hanbok Paper Folding!
KSI Amman, Jordan (Cho Moonhwa, Operating Staff)
It was December 12th, when the year 2020 was coming to an end. At King Sejong Institute (KSI) Amman, Jordan, the unstoppable
love for Korea and Korean culture was poured into the “royal court clothing paper folding”.
Although not all of the students could gather together, the maximum number of people that were allowed for the meeting shared
their interest and love for the Korean language and culture beyond their mask.
One student said that it was not easy to fold paper for hanbok skirts and jeogori but had a wonderful day of learning to fold and
complete beautiful hanbok she had seen in TV dramas, with her own hands. Some students completed a pair of wonderful royal
court hanbok dolls to decorate the house and then introduced them to their families.
Students placed their name tags in front of the royal court hanbok they made and took pictures together. They also had time to
memorize the name of each piece of royal court hanbok and explain it to their friends and teachers.
At the KSI Amman, Jordan, students had a meaningful time to study and experience the traditional Korean clothing culture by
folding paper. Please look forward to the future activities of KSI Amman, Jordan!
