The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF, president: Kang Hyounhwa) is offering non-contact Korean language courses for foreign workers in collaboration with the Bangladesh EPS-TOPIK Center.
The KSIF announced on September 7 that it has established an e-Class with the Bangladesh EPS-TOPIK Center operating under the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea). Through this program, foreign workers getting ready to find work in Korea have been able to continue their Korean studies online since September.

On August 25, the KSIF opened the e-Class in Collaboration with the Bangladesh EPS-TOPIK Center on Online King Sejong Institute (www.iksi.or.kr), a non-contact Korean language education platform. So far, a total of 18 courses for different levels of proficiency have been set up, and they will be offered for 10 weeks until November 8 on a pilot basis. The number of people who signed up for the courses in Bangladesh is 10,089.

The Collaborative e-Class is a program through which a non-contact learning platform is provided to an external organization, not a KSI branch, by the KSIF. The foundation opened e-Class programs worldwide through Online KSI this past April, and starting this September, it has been providing a non-contact Korean language education environment to external entities through the Collaborative e-Class.

Kim Ye-som, a staff who is in charge of the program, explained, “The Collaborative e-Class Program is meaningful, as it aids organizations that are facing difficulties in continuing Korean education programs due to COVID-19. We will partner up with more user organizations so that a greater number of people can use the KSI’s non-contact learning program.”

Those who need assistance in the form of the Collaborative e-Class can apply by sending an e-mail to the representative of Online KSI (online@ksif.or.kr). Meanwhile, the KSIF will provide the Collaborative e-Class to KOICA and Holt Children’s Services in the latter half of 2020.
