Irkutsk State University Publishes New Korean Language Textbook Korean: Business Communication
On June 26, Irkutsk State University published Korean: Business Communication, a new teaching and learning textbook for Korean language study. The book was authored by Dr. Evgeniya Kolodina, Head of the Department of Linguistics and Language Education and Director of the Korean Language Education Center at Irkutsk State University. The textbook incorporates real examples of public communication language use, such as official speeches and addresses delivered at events in the Siberian region, drawn from My Siberian Diary, published in 2025 by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea. Through these materials, learners can acquire vocabulary and sentence patterns used in actual diplomatic and business settings. In addition, translation exercises and practice tasks in the book are designed to strengthen translation skills needed in the fields of international relations and business.

Université Paris Cité Hosts Korean Grammar Education Workshop for French-speaking Learners
On June 20, Université Paris Cité held the 7th Korean Language Education Workshop under the theme Korean Grammar Education and Learning for French-speaking Learners. The workshop brought together Korean language education experts from France and Germany, including lecturers from Université Paris Cité, who gave presentations on a variety of topics such as analysis of Korean grammar errors made by French-speaking learners, semantic and functional analysis of the dependent noun “geot”, insights into Korean grammar education from the perspective of European linguists, and approaches to teaching general Korean grammar. During the subsequent general discussion, participants exchanged opinions on Korean language education in France and shared information among Korean language education institutions.

High Schools in Dong Nai Province Conclude Korean Language Pilot Education Program
On July 8, high schools in Dong Nai Province held a closing ceremony for the Korean Language Pilot Education Program. This program was implemented in high schools within Dong Nai Province that lack Korean language teachers and infrastructure, using Master K, a Korean language education platform developed by the Korean education company, Visang Education, to conduct both online and offline classes in parallel. Since October 2024, the program has been operated in three high schools* in Dong Nai Province, with over 100 students participating. Following the completion of classes, evaluations showed that 27 students received an “Excellent” rating, 53 a “Very Good” rating, and 25 a “Good” rating. At the closing ceremony, certificates of completion were awarded to these students. The Dong Nai Department of Education and Training plans to assess the limitations of the pilot program and reflect the findings in future plans.

Qingdao Tourism School Hosts First “Tsingtao Beer Culture Tourism Cup” Korean Speech Contest
On June 18, Qingdao Tourism School hosted the inaugural Tsingtao Beer Culture Tourism Cup Korean Speech Contest. The competition was designed to improve the speaking skills of Korean language majors at Qingdao Tourism School, a specialized foreign language institution. The event featured over 20 Korean language majors from the classes of 2022 and 2023, who delivered speeches in Korean on topics such as “Korea as I See It” and “An Introduction to the Chinese City of Qingdao”.
