On February 1, KSI Quimper hosted a Korean culture festival at the annual ISUGA Day held by EMBA Business
School. EMBA Business School, which operates KSI Quimper, organizes this event each year, bringing together
students and professors from the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese departments to showcase an Asian culture
festival. While previously held on separate dates for each country, this year’s festival was more grandiose,
with all three countries participating together on February 1.
This year’s ISUGA Day prominently featured the Korean culture festival, providing an excellent opportunity to
promote Korean language and culture. Seo Hyi-gyeong, a dispatched teacher at KSI Quimper, led a Korean cooking
atelier, demonstrating how to make gimbap and introducing Korean cuisine in both Korean and French. The event,
planned since last year by KSI Quimper learners, was open to the first 30 participants from the local French
community and was so popular that it filled up immediately upon opening.

Additionally, the festival offered experiences of traditional Korean games like gonggi—which gained heightened
interest following the popularity of the Netflix series ❬Squid Game❭—wearing hanbok and taking Life Four Cuts
photos, a Korean photo exhibition, making bungeo-ppang, calligraphy experiences, and a one-day Hangeul course.

The event was further enriched by a fan dance performance and a 15-minute K-pop dance performance, both led by
students of KSI Quimper. During the K-pop dance performance, KSI Quimper’s director, Kim Myung-yul, made an
appearance, adding to the excitement.

LE BONGE Enora, a second-year student at EMBA Business School and a 2A class learner at KSI Quimper,
successfully managed the overall coordination of the event. The highly popular gimbap-making session was
particularly well-organized thanks to KSI Quimper learners TIPPING Kenan and HELIAS Elena, who were in charge of
preparations and interpretation, alongside support from dispatched instructor Seo Hyi-gyeong. Their efforts
ensured the event’s successful conclusion.
