> Applications can be submitted through the foundation’s website from November 3 to December 30.
KSIF has announced the call for new KSI branches for the year 2023.
KSIF (President Lee Haiyoung, hereinafter “Foundation”) announced its
plan to designate new KSI branches for 2023 on the notice section of
its website on November 3. Any qualifying institution can apply by
submitting the application form and required documents on the
foundation’s integrated back-office management system
(https://nbms.ksif.or.kr).
The selection process includes application screening, onsite due
diligence, and final evaluation. The results are to be announced
around June 2023. The designated Screening Committee, which consists
of over 10 outside experts, will engage in the evaluation at each and
every stage.
Information sessions on how to prepare the application, cautions,
details of the support new institutions will receive, and the
obligations will be held more than five times online and offline in
and outside Korea. Those interested in attending the session can apply
by providing related information via email (newksi@ksif.or.kr). This
time KSIF will be investing more efforts in local promotions. To
expand the promotion, the foundation will cooperate with the Korea
Foundation and Academy of Korean Studies, as well as diplomatic
offices and foreign embassies.
KSI operators will be provided with the budget required for running
the institution along with instructor dispatch and expenses or
learning materials necessary for educating Korean culture. In
addition, the instructors gain the opportunity to attend re-education
sessions, such as the World Korean Educator Conference. There are
various benefits for learners as well, including visits to Korea and
scholarships for outstanding students.
KSI is a brand that is dedicated to the global popularization of
Korean language and culture, officially approved by the Korean
government. There are 244 branches across 84 countries as of June
2022. KSIF plans to continue increasing KSI branches until 2026 under
“The 4th Korean Language Development Master Plan (2022-2026)” by the
Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
