K-pop random dance event (3.17.) to help Korea culture permeate into Queretaro people’s life
KSI Queretaro, which opened in Queretaro, Mexico conducted various cultural events to promote Korea and KSI at the Queretaro World Cultural Festival that introduces cultures of 62 countries around the world.
Four days before the festival began, KSI Queretaro’s instructors and learners participated in a parade with citizens to encourage participation in the “Queretaro World Cultural Festival” at the Bicentennial Park of Queretaro. Watching the parade, Queretaro citizens applauded the KSI Queretaro members dressed in Taekwondo uniforms and Hanbok.
Afterwards, in the festival held from February 29 to March 3, KSI Queretaro set up a booth at the Korea promotion hall at the Queretaro World Cultural Festival and met with Queretaro citizens while conducting various Korean cultural events.
Students and citizens who visited KSI Queretaro booth with their friends received bookmarks with their names written in Korean and showed interest in the Korean language and Hangeul. People who visited the booth were fascinated by the bookmark with her name in Hangeul and expressed her willingness to learn Korean at KSI. She also tried on Hanbok and inquired about its purchase, and expressed gratitude to KSI Queretaro for organizing such events. One citizen who observed writing the names of his family members in Hangeul, was amazed at the combination of Korean consonants and vowels and thanked for the thoughtful gift.
Another visitor at the booth who came with his wife and children, showed interest in Korean traditional desserts, such as sticky rice cakes and jujube tea, saying, "It's not too sweet but delicious.” Many others also expressed interest in Korean ingredients, saying, "Although jujubes are unfamiliar fruits, they have a rich aroma when drinking as warm tea.”

After the festival, on March 17, to help permeate Korean language and K-pop into the daily lives of Queretaro citizens, 'K-pop Random Dance' and 'Writing Korean Names' events were held at Guerrero Park. A mother and a daughter who came to the event together followed KSI Queretaro’s social media, saying “It is sad that the event ends in just one day.” The 'K-pop Random Dance' event was attended by over 500 citizens and ended successfully. Prizes were also given to outstanding participants. Many citizens expressed their gratitude, hoping that KSI Queretaro would hold more Korean cultural events like this in the future.
Director Liliana of KSI Queretaro, who actively participated in all events to promote Korea and KSI Queretaro, expressed her satisfaction, saying, "Thanks to the various K-contents and Korean language events held at this event, I feel rewarded starting 2024.” KSI Queretaro will continue to lead the promotion of Korean language, Korean culture, and KSI in Queretaro, Mexico through various activities.
