King Sejong Institute Foundation (President Lee Hai-young, hereinafter referred to as "KSIF") published the "2023 Casebook of KSI Learners" (Subtitle: "Records of Dreams Flourishing through Korean Language and Korean Culture"), containing stories of leaners who are finding new lives by discovering their dreams, and mapping out their career paths while studying Korean language and Korean culture at KSIs around the world.
The "2023 Casebook of KSI Learners," the first casebook covering stories of KSI learners active in various fields, contains stories of 46 learners of 42 KSIs in 35 countries in the world. Part 1 introduces cases of 14 learners who are demonstrating their competence as professionals to the fullest by making steady and persistent effort to achieve their dreams after studying Korean and Korean language at KSIs. Part 2 contains cases of KSI learners who are active in five fields:
▲ Korean language specialized fields, ▲ culture/arts, ▲ Korean companies, ▲ government/public bodies, and ▲ media).
In this casebook, you can read the stories of learners who could follow their dreams after learning Korean language at KSIs, including Phyllis Ndiangui who became a Korean language teacher at Nairobi KSI, Kenya; Nguyen Thu Huyen who is working as a court interpreter/translator; Nancy Casstro who is the first foreign finisher of Gyeonggi minyo (traditional Gyeonggi folk songs); Lia Maurer who was accepted to study at Korea National University of Arts as an AMA+ scholarship student and is currently working as a photographic artist; and Sena Coskun who is working at the Turkiye branch of Hyundai Motors.

“This casebook, which is officially published by KSIF for the first time since KSIF began in 2012, contains stories of Korean language learners around the world who became professionals and talented global citizens in various fields as they realized their dreams through Korean language and Korean culture. It is expected that the paths they have been walking on could create new paths for someone else. KSIF will continue to discover stories of growing through KSIs and introduce those stories to people around the world as well as Koreans,” said President Lee Hai-young of KSIF.
The "2023 Casebook of KSI Learners" is available for anyone to download from the KSIF’s website (www.ksif.or.kr ) (KSIF website>Notice>Resources>Other Resources).
