> Becoming one by gathering together and making kimchi
On December 1, a kimchi festival was held at KSI Tashkent 1. The festival takes place every year, for not only KSI learners and instructors but also around 150 additional participants.
On this day, with the onset of winter, participants gathered in the courtyard at KSI to make kimchi together. Huh Seon-haeng, the President of KSI Tashkent 1, outlined the purpose of the event in his opening speech, saying, "Just as our learners, who are studying Korean to realize their dreams, are cooperating in harmony to make kimchi today, we will continue to move forward together toward realizing your dreams in harmony." Following this, the participants listened to explanations about the history and the process of making kimchi from an invited Korean chef and, under the guidance of KSI instructors, made kimchi.

Participant Bekkulova Nilufar, a learner at KSI, shared her thoughts, saying, “I was really happy to be able to make kimchi myself. KSI is like my second home where I not only can learn the Korean language, but also enjoy Korean culture through various events.”
Participants who enjoyed making kimchi, carefully packed the kimchi they made, intending to share it with their families after the festival.
Despite the chilly weather, the active participation of the attendees contributed to the successful conclusion of the festival. The kimchi festival at KSI Tashkent 1 will continue next winter, aiming to promote Korean kimchi culture to both KSI learners and the people of Uzbekistan.
