Learners who participated in the “Global Korean Language Competition” visited KSIF and engaged in discussions
On October 16, learners from KSI who came to Korea for the filming of the final round of KBS’ “Global Korean Language Competition” visited the King Sejong Institute Foundation. On this day, the seven learners had a discussion with Lee Hai-young, President of KSIF, regarding their motivation for learning Korean, future aspirations, and the dreams they aim to fulfill through Korean language and culture.
Visit and have a discussion with the rector of the National University of San Marcos, Peru
On October 20, Dr. Jeri Ramon, the Rector of the National University of San Marcos, Peru, a newly designated local operating institution this year, visited KSIF. During the meeting, President Lee Hai-young of KSIF discussed cooperation for the operation of KSI Lima with Rector Ramon and expressed expectations for the future. They also deliberated on the distribution of Korean language and culture in Lima through KSI, as well as the expansion of cultural exchange between Korea and Peru.
Visit and talk with Rector of Istanbul University, Türkiye
On October 18, Rector Osman Bülent Zülfikar of Istanbul University and President Jeong Eun-kyung of KSI Istanbul visited KSIF. Rector Osman Bülent Zülfikar, representing Istanbul University as a local operating institute of KSI Istanbul, discussed the status of Korean education in Türkiye and the operations of KSI during a meeting with President Lee Hai-young of KSIF. Subsequently, they deliberated on the expansion and exchange of Korean language education in Türkiye and potential areas for cooperation.
Interview with the Chairman of the Foundation for Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to Korea
On October 24, President Lee Hai-young of KSIF held a discussion with Ambassador Aida Ismailova and her party. The two organizations explored methods for training and professional instructors of the King Sejong Institute in Kyrgyzstan using Korean language learning materials tailored for seasonal workers, a project currently under development at KSIF. Additionally, they discussed plans to introduce a new Korean language learning curriculum specifically designed for seasonal workers.
KSI learners featured on KBS 1 Radio’s” Jeong Kwan-yong"s Current Affairs Headquarters”
In celebration of the Month of Culture, four KSI learners made an appearance on KBS1 Radio’s “Jeong Kwan-yong"s Current Affairs Headquarters.” From October 1st to 29th, every Sunday, a total of 5 times, the learners engaged in discussions of various topics, including the Korean language, K-pop, Korean cuisine, and traditional culture.
