The King Sejong Institute Foundation, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is an organization dedicated to promoting Korean language and culture globally. During this event, they showcased the Korean language and culture learning materials they have developed. The exhibition centered around the theme of “Smart Approaches to Korean Language and Culture Education.” Visitors had the opportunity to explore innovative Korean language and culture learning resources that integrate various cutting-edge technologies, including AI/AR Korean learning applications, virtual reality (VR) Korean culture experience, and the Metaverse King Sejong Institute.

At the Metaverse King Sejong Institute and the Online King Sejong Institute, in particular, visitors had the opportunity to log into both platforms and experience the high-quality learning content firsthand. They could attend classes and explore the interactive map, thereby gaining a comprehensive understanding of the offered resources.
At the experience center, a distinctive program that involved creating hand fans with Hangeul using Chat GPT was also provided. Participants utilized Chat GPT to search for the “Korean word for the day” and then inscribed the word in calligraphy on the fans, thus crafting their own hand fans adorned with Hangeul.

Lee Hai-young, the President of KSIF, stated, “I hope that visitors to the 2023 Hangeul Cultural Industry Exhibition will feel a closer connection to KSI and KSIF by immersing themselves in the high-quality learning content showcased at our Korean language and culture experience hall. I believe this will encourage more foreign learners to join KSI.
