Meeting with the Ambassador of Peru to Korea
On September 4, Peruvian Ambassador H.E. Paul Fernando Duclos Parodi visited KSIF. In the meeting with President Lee Hai-young of KSIF, Ambassador Parodi expressed his interest in the designation of KSI in Peru, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Peru. He added that the operation of KSI is very proper and timely, as local demand for Korean language education is increasing. The two organizations discussed future cooperation to expand Korean language education in Peru.
Meeting with the Ambassador of El Salvador to Korea
On September 12, 2023, H.E. Ambassador Jaime Jose Lopez Badia and Minister Counselor Gracia Sosa Marcela Alexandra from the Embassy of El Salvador in Korea visited KSIF. On this day, President Lee Hai-young and staff members discussed the donation of Korean textbooks to the newly opened National Library of El Salvador, and the designation of additional KSI locations in El Salvador with officials including the Ambassador of El Salvador.
Meeting with executives of the International Association for Korean Language Education
On September 15, the 20th board members of the International Association for Korean Language Education visited KSIF including President Lee Jun-ho (Gyeongin National University of Education), Vice President Park Seon-hee (Ewha Womans University), Vice President Song Geum-sook (Korea University), Vice President Yoo Hae-joon (Gyeongsang National University), and Trustee of Director Kim Ji-hye (Seoul National University of Science & Technology). The International Association for Korean Language Education, founded in 1985, is a leading academic society in Korean language education. President Lee Hai-young congratulated the board members, newly formed in September, and expressed her gratitude for the cooperation of the Korean education community that made the expansion and growth of Korean education achieved by KSIF possible. KSIF and the four main Korean education societies agreed to continue exchanges and cooperation based on the business agreement, so that KSI’s Korean education will improve and develop in new and diverse ways.
