KSI Bishkek Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Kyrgyz-Korean Cultural Event

On March 25, KSI Bishkek marked its tenth anniversary with the “Kyrgyz-Korean Cultural Event” at the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theatre.

The celebration aimed to strengthen the friendship between Korea and Kyrgyzstan. The event began with “Three Drums” performance by Mannam, a traditional Korean cultural arts troupe showcasing Korean and Kyrgyz culture collaborations.

Following the welcoming remarks by Mr. Son Dong-won, a dedicated teacher at KSI Bishkek, distinguished guests delivered congratulatory remarks, including Mr. Park Ki-seok, Consul General of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Soyuzbek, Director of the National Cultural Center of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Jeon Ju-young, Director of the International Education Center of Kyungwoon University, and Mr. Talantbek, First Vice President of the Arabaev Kyrgyz State University. Notably, Director Sayazbek, a Korean language major, touched attendees with his heartfelt speech, expressing his love for Korea and Kyrgyzstan and his gratitude to Korea.

The event featured traditional Kyrgyz dances, Korean fan dances and Janggu dances, Kyrgyz and Korean songs, K-POP dances, Samulnori - a traditional Korean performance, violin performances, and performances by the Eoullim Children's Choir, The performance culminated in a joint rendition of "Hand in Hand" by KSI Bishkek teachers and the children's choir, symbolizing the friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Korea as they held hands and sang in both Korean and Kyrgyz. The audience also participated by singing along to “Hand in Hand” and “Kol Karmashyp,” showcasing a rare moment of unity between the two cultures. In addition, various prizes such as TVs, wireless earphones, Billboard magazines featuring BTS, K-pop music albums, cosmetics sets, clothing sets, meal vouchers, and gift certificates were also given away, which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
