On May 9th, Teacher KIM Ung-Soo of KSI Nairobi, Kenya, the grand prize winner of the 2021 Korean Teacher Memoir Contest, visited the Foundation.
Mr. KIM has been more than a Korean language teacher; he has given his full material and emotional support for outstanding students so that they could attend a college in Korea or work at a job that’s related to Korea. He has so far sent more than 100 students from Kenya to Korea to study abroad, and he even helped some of them out with tuition when they couldn’t afford it. The memoir that won him the prize included a moving story of a KSI Nairobi student who, after completing her studies in Korea thanks to the support of Mr. KIM, became a KSI Nairobi teacher.
