The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) conducted a learner satisfaction survey with King Sejong Institute (KSI) from the end of Oct. 2021 to mid-Jan. 2022. In 2021, KSI achieved 89.7 points in overall learner satisfaction, seeing a rise in satisfaction scores for three consecutive years.
All KSI learners who had taken online or offline courses at KSI in 2021, totaling 10,284, rising by 2,600 from the previous year, responded to the survey.
The survey showed that students were satisfied most with ▲the learning materials (91.4 points), which was followed by ▲the cultural education curriculum and programs (90.1 points), ▲educational curriculum (88.9 points), ▲overall satisfaction (89.9 points), and ▲contribution to the spread of Korean language education and culture (89 points).
In particular, 73.9 percent of the respondents answered that they had experience in receiving KSI online education service, up 3.2 percent points from the previous year ─ and they gave 87 points in their overall satisfaction with KSI’s online education, up 1.05 points from the previous year. The survey result shows that there was an improvement in the quality of KSI online education, and the learners’ adaptability to online learning.
According to the survey, the respondents took courses at KSI because they wanted to study in Korea (30.4 percent), were interested in Korean culture (23.1 percent), and wanted to work for Korean businesses (17.6 percent), among others. Their keen interest in studying in Korea indicates that KSI needs to provide special programs to meet their needs.
The KSF will conduct the “2022 KSI Learner Satisfaction Survey” starting in May and continuing until the end of the year, and plans to conduct the survey in many more languages to encourage the active participation of learners all around the world. Detailed information on the learner satisfaction survey will be announced in May for all KSIs.
