The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter KSIF, President: Lee Hai-young) will host the ‘2021 King Sejong Institute Regional Online Workshop in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa’ for three days from November 10 to 12.
The workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by KSIF, is targeting the members of KSI and local Korean language experts. In addition, it will be broadcast live through KSIF’s official YouTube channel to the members of KSI and local Korean educators in 71 locations in 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
This will be the third workshop following the first (Asia/Oceania region) and the second (Americas region), focusing on retraining on practical affairs and cultural education training program teaching methods for local staff of KSI.
The structure of the program to fit the characteristics of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is particularly noteworthy. There will be a lecture on Korean food on the theme of “Vegetarian culture of Korea,” and a time to learn about the history of folk tales, and to make Christmas cards using the knowledge. In addition, various cultural education training programs such as Korean calligraphy, traditional knots, etc. are being prepared.
In the practical affairs retraining, there will be lectures on KSI’s Korean language and culture dissemination, by regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. As the spread of COVID-19 continues, teaching methods related to the operation of online program education will be provided, and discussions will be held for each department among the members of the institutions.
