2021 20th KSI Teachers Training Support

 
  1. KSI training for local teachers starts in October

The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter KSIF, President: Lee Hae-young) starts the 20th training course from October to strengthen the expertise of teachers of KSI. During September, a total of 23 people completed the 19th KSI Teacher Training Course of KSIF.

The total lecture time for the training course is 120 hours, comprising 102 hours of theoretical learning and 18 hours of practical learning. The theoretical training is conducted over an 11-week period on Nuri-Sejong Hakdang. There are a total of 30 classes in the comprising eight classes of Korean language studies; three classes of general linguistics; 14 classes of Korean language education as a foreign language; four classes of Korean culture; and one Korean language teaching practice. Upon completion, a certificate of completion is issued by the president of KSIF, and the qualification certificate to take the level-3 Korean language teacher exam at the National Institute of Korean Language.

Of special note, the teachers who are participating in this year’s KSI Teacher Training Course will also be able to attend the special lecture in preparation for the 2022 Test of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language. KSIF has been offering the KSI Teacher Training Course since 2010, and about 800 teachers of KSI completed the course by last year. KSIF will continue to operate the Korean language teacher training program and expand support for teachers to strengthen their expertise.
