The King Sejong Institute (KSI) Center Vietnam will join forces with Saigon Korean Language School to support Korean-Vietnamese families" Korean language and culture education.

On the 12th, the KSI Center Vietnam (Director Lee Kyurim), which is the KSIF headquarters in Vietnam, signed a business agreement to provide support for Korean language and culture education for parents and children of Korean-Vietnamese families with Saigon Korean Language School (Principal Kim Kyu) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

This agreement is part of a “business agreement to support Korean language and culture education for the next generation of overseas Koreans and foreigners” signed by KSIF and the Overseas Koreans Foundation in October last year. The agreement focuses primarily on cooperation between the two foundations to provide ▲ support for Korean language and culture education for Vietnamese parents of Korean-Vietnamese families, ▲ opportunities to experience Korean culture for children of Korean-Vietnamese families, ▲ support for Korean language and culture education training for Korean language school teachers, and ▲ support for teaching materials, such as textbooks, for parents and children of Korean-Vietnamese families.

Based on this agreement, the KSI Center Vietnam will provide Korean language textbooks and educational programs to Vietnamese parents of Korean-Vietnamese families through the Saigon Korean Language School starting in May. In addition, Korean language school teachers will be trained in Korean language and culture education, and Korean culture experience events will be held regularly for Korean-Vietnamese families.

“Supporting Korean language and culture education for Korean-Vietnamese families is a meaningful act that can directly help the lives of Koreans,” said Lee Kyurim, director of KSI Center Vietnam. “Through this cooperation, we hope that members of these Korean-Vietnamese families will better understand each other"s languages and cultures, and that the second generation of overseas Koreans living in Vietnam will be more familiar with Korean culture.”

Saigon Korean Language School Principal Kim Kyu said, "Through this cooperation with KSI, we look forward to providing Vietnamese parents with revitalized Korean culture education that was previously lacking in Korean language schools."
