The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) will begin accepting applications for the collaborative King Sejong Institute (KSI) designation in 2021 this coming February.

Applications will be accepted until the end of April in the first half and the end of November in the second half. Following a review, successful applicants will be announced in May and December, respectively.

Collaborative KSIs are run by local enterprises and institutions in areas where the demand for Korean language education is high but cannot be adequately met due to a lack of necessary infrastructure or for other reasons. By collaborating with local entities in this manner, KSIF has been disseminating the Korean language and culture with excellent efficiency.

In 2020, four collaborative KSIs were designated in Palestine, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam by collaborating with diplomatic offices, public corporations, and enterprises. KSIF is currently operating collaborative KSIs in 15 regions in 12 countries including Chile, Botswana, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

For the detailed procedure and application method in relation to the designation of collaborative KSIs in the first half of 2021, visit KSIF’s website (www.ksif.or.kr) this February.
