The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF) has designated three additional collaborative King Sejong Institutes (KSIs).

On December 3 last year, KSIF held a collaborative KSI designation review committee for the second half of the year and announced that it has designated three collaborative KSIs in Ramallah in Palestine and Thai Nguyen and Can Tho in Vietnam.

The KSI Ramallah, Palestine will be operated by the Representative Office of the Republic of Korea to Palestine, the KSI Thai Nguyen, Vietnam by a company called Doo Sun, and the KSI Can Tho 2, Vietnam by the Korea Center for United Nations Human Rights Policy (KOCUN).

A collaborative KSI is a KSI operated by an organization such as overseas diplomatic offices, local government offices, public institutions, and companies, without receiving a grant from KSIF. Since 2019, KSIF has been designating collaborative KSIs through public contests in order to efficiently and actively spread Korean language and culture to the blind spots of Korean language education where the demand for learning the Korean language is high but with insufficient supply.

KSIF plans to sign business agreements with the three institutions in the future to support Korean language teachers, Korean language textbooks and teaching supplies, and online education platforms and content.
