Briefing sessions to be held December 4th (Fri) and December 29th (Tue)

The King Sejong Institute Foundation is to hold a public competition for the designation of new King Sejong Institutes for 2021.
The King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF, president: Kang Hyounhwa) announced plans for designation of new King Sejong Institutes (KSIs) for the year 2021 through the KSIF website (www.ksif.or.kr) on the 24th.
The applications process will comprise document screening, videoconference interviews and on-site verification.
Around 30 new KSIs will be designated in June of next year. Institutes seeking KSI designation may submit their applications and documentation through the KSIF’s online applications system (apply.ksif.or.kr) between the 24th of November and January 29th.

KSIF will hold briefing sessions on the 4th and 29th of December for institutes seeking to file applications.
Persons looking to attend the briefing sessions may register by e-mailing the KSIF’s new institute designation officer at newksi@ksif.or.kr, stating their name, affiliation, contact information (telephone number, e-mail address), region of interest, and preferred briefing date.
Further details on procedure and qualifications for applying for KSI designation may be found in the post ‘Announcement : Designation of New King Sejong Institutes for 2021’ on the Notices message board on the KSIF website.

The King Sejong Institute is a brand for Korean language and culture education institutes supported by the government of the Republic of Korea. The first KSI opened in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2007, and 213 institutes are operational throughout 76 countries today. The KSIF plans to increase the number of KSIs to 270 by 2022, focusing on regions where access to Korean language education is low. These efforts are based on the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s ‘Korean Language Proliferation Plan (2020-2022)’.
