The King Sejong Institute Foundation held a pre-training course for the 2020 World Korean Educators Conference to strengthen
the expertise of employees in Korean language education institutions.
On the 16th, the King Sejong Institute Foundation(KSIF, president: Kang Hyounhwa) opened the first pre-training course for the
2020 World Korean Educators Conference at the King Sejong Institute Education Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul. 38 people from
kindergarten, elementary, middle, high schools, and universities who are teaching Korean to various learners attended the event
on this day.
Participants took a lecture on the current status of Korean language education abroad and the characteristics of KSI’s education.
In addition, they had time to use KSI’s textbooks and online educational content to create teaching plans and to conduct mock
classes and share feedback. The KSIF plans to hold a second pre-training course on November 13, featuring the theme of “Korean
education plan for learners with multicultural backgrounds”.
The “World Korean Educators Conference” is an event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and organized by
the King Sejong Institute Foundation, intended to strengthen the educational expertise of Korean teachers at home and abroad
and to establish a cooperation network of Korean teachers. It will be held for 3 days from December 9th to 11th in a way that
combines face-to-face and non-face-to-face methods.
