King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter referred to as KSIF; President: Kang Hyounhwa,) will be implementing Korean language telephone support for those with disabilities.
KSIF signed an agreement with ‘Korean At Your Door’ (CEO Kim Hyeonjin), a social enterprise for disabled teachers teaching Korean language to foreigners over the telephone and 1:1 telephone Korean language education as a social contribution towards the furthering of Korean language education in Vietnam.
This business is supported by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, LG Display, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, and Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Korean Language Education Corporate Social Responsibility in Haiphong initiative that supports Korean language education for Korean companies advancing to the Haiphong region in Vietnam.

KSIF will be supporting part of the Korean Language Teacher Education Program and KSI Teacher Re-Education Program in order to reinforce the professionalism of Korean language teachers with visual and physical disabilities, and teachers who complete the education program will be providing Korean speaking lessons via telephone to Korean language learners in Haiphong, Vietnam.
Teachers with disabilities will undertake 70 hours of online education including KSI’s Korean Language Teacher Education Program, developed by KSI, for 2 months beginning in July and then receive 40 hours of offline teaching method and practices education from the professional teaching team. Moreover, a workshop for enhancing understanding of learners will be held in September, in which teachers with experience in working at KSI in Vietnam will be invited to share lesson case studies.
Teachers who have completed the education program will be providing 1:1 Korean speaking practice over the telephone to over 100 Korean language learners in Haiphong, Vietnam for 3 months from October to December.

Ju HyunHee, manager of KSI Support Department stated that “Through this business, learners have the opportunity to practice Korean speaking with native teachers over the phone, and we have been able to provide new jobs for Korean language teachers with disabilities”, and that “In the future, we will proactively discover methods to contribute to society through the distinct work of KSIF”.
KSIF signed a business agreement with 4 sponsor institutions in December last year for the Korean Language Education Corporate Social Responsibility in Haiphong. From March, the Haiphong KSI has been conducting Korean language lectures for local employees in Korean SMEs and LG Display in Vietnam by sending Korean language specialist teachers.
