Vietnam Korean Culture Programs Held in Da Nang and Hanoi
From June 30 to August 28, the webtoon exhibition “K-COMICS ORIGIN VIETNAM 2026” is being held.
Jointly organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), the exhibition will begin in Vietnam before touring the United States, Indonesia, Argentina, Mexico, Hong Kong, Poland, and other destinations. At the exhibition venue, the exhibition features titles popular in Vietnam, including The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and Solo Leveling. Visitors can also take part in an interactive area where visitors can create webtoons using AI and a “Meet the Artist” program. Meanwhile, the “2026 Korea-Vietnam Festival” is scheduled to take place in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 6 to 9. The festival will feature a wide range of programs, including Korean culture, tourism, and education exhibitions, film screenings, a K-pop dance competition, a Korean speech contest, and an information session on studying in Korea.

From July 3 to 5, the “Korea Study-to-Career Education Fair 2026” was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya hotel in Indonesia.
Hosted by the Council for Attracting Global Talent to Higher Vocational Education, the fair brought together 18 Korean colleges and universities. Participating institutions operated specialized booths in areas such as nursing and caregiving, root industries, specialized technical training, and other fields. They also provided consultations on study abroad, visas, and employment, while introducing their curricula and scholarship programs. A related event was also held in Jakarta on July 5, and over the three days, approximately 870 visitors, including high school students, university students, and parents, attended the fair.

United Kingdom International Circle of Korean Linguistics Holds Its 24th Conference
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics (ICKL), the 24th International Conference of the ICKL was held at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom from July 1 to 3.
Held under the theme “Diverse Approaches to Korean Linguistics,” the conference featured keynote lectures by Professor George Tsoulas of the University of York and Dr. Chun Hae-sung of the University of Lancashire, among others. Participants explored a wide range of research areas, including bilingualism and multilingualism, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, morphology, and first- and second-language acquisition. The ICKL stated, “Korean linguistics is expanding its scope through new empirical research and collaborative studies,” adding that it hoped the conference served as a forum where professors, researchers, and graduate students from around the world could share diverse research and exchange ideas.
