Colombia Three Regular Schools in Colombia to Launch Korean Language Classes
The Ministry of Education announced on June 1 the introduction of Korean language classes in regular schools across Colombia, set to begin this August.
This will mark Colombia’s first Korean language curriculum in regular schools, developed through cooperation between the Korean Education Center in Paraguay and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Colombia. Since Colombia currently has no Korean Education Center, the Korean Education Center in Paraguay, located in a neighboring country, closely examined local demand for Korean language education and the local educational environment. Drawing on Paraguay’s successful Korean language education programs, the center also held consultations with Colombian education offices and school officials. The Korean language classes are scheduled to open at three schools: the Institute for Pedagogical Research and Action, which is affiliated with the National University of Colombia; Colegio Nueva Granada; and the Fundación Hogar Nueva Granada.

Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Launch Korean Language Program for Civil Servants
The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has officially approved the operation of a Korean language training program for civil servants and employees of public institutions.
The program will be organized by the Korean Education Center in Ho Chi Minh City and operated in cooperation with relevant agencies, including the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Foreign Affairs. The 60-hour program, which includes an introduction to Korean culture and beginner-level Korean language education, will provide full tuition support and be taught by qualified local Vietnamese instructors.
Classes will be conducted using the standard curriculum of Korea’s Ministry of Education and teaching materials developed by professional instructors. The program aims to improve Korean communication skills and deepen the understanding of Korean culture. Participants who attend at least 70 percent of all classes and score 70 or higher on the final assessment will receive a certificate of completion.

France National Museum of World Writing Systems Hosts Special Exhibition Celebrating 140 Years of Korea-France Diplomatic Relations
From July 3 to October 11, the National Museum of World Writing Systems will present an overseas exchange exhibition, “A King’s Dream, the Words of the People (Hangeul, la volonté d’un roi),” at the Champollion Museum of World Writing Systems in France.
Organized to commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, the exhibition will be the National Museum of World Writing Systems’ first overseas exchange exhibition. Centered on Hangeul, it will introduce Korean history and culture to local audiences in France. The exhibition will highlight the spirit behind King Sejong’s creation of Hangeul and the development of Korea’s written culture through Hangeul-related materials, including a facsimile edition of “Hunminjeongeum,” “Bulseol Daebumo Eunjunggyeong,” and “Oryun Haengsildo.” It will also present the value of Hangeul across a broad range of contexts, from Korea’s advanced printing culture and the writing culture of the Joseon Dynasty to the diverse modern applications of Hangeul.
