“Meet Korean Language Teachers from KSIs!”
March Featured Content
These are real stories of King Sejong Institute (KSI) teachers working on the front lines of Korean language education around the world. This March, two key programs released through the King Sejong Institute Foundation (KSIF)’s social media channels offer a window into the daily lives of teachers as well as their professional classroom insights.
◇ Reunited with Sejong: Teacher Edition
“A blooming passion for teaching Korean in distant lands, captured through the lens of a candid vlog”
Our premiere featured series, “Reunited with Sejong: The Teacher Edition,” is a long-form YouTube documentary series that offers an intimate look at the lives of KSI instructors worldwide. Presented in a raw, authentic vlog format, the series follows dispatched teachers as they navigate the challenges of adapting to foreign cultures and the rewarding moments in their classrooms.
Instead of a standard field report, this series delves into the personal joys and quiet struggles of living far from home to highlight the unique charm and dedication each teacher brings to their mission. The journey spans four episodes, released every Monday and Tuesday in the second and third week of March.
Two episodes featuring Asri Julianti from KSI Surabaya, Indonesia,
released on March 9 and 10
March’s featured teachers are Asri Julianti, a local teacher at KSI Surabaya, Indonesia (released March 9–10), and Kim Yeon-ung, a teacher at KSI Tashkent 1, Uzbekistan (released March 16–17). The episodes featuring Asri Julianti chronicle the journey of a non-language major becoming a certified local Korean instructor. They drew an outpouring of viewer comments: “You can really feel her sincerity,” “Asri’s enterprising spirit is truly admirable,” and “Hard work never betrays you. This is so motivating!” Kim Yeon-ung’s episode, “A KSI Teacher’s Daily Life with Unexpected Twists,” saw a surge in views immediately after it was posted and received an enthusiastic response from subscribers.

Through practical tips that actually work in the classroom and vivid first-hand accounts, the series provides practical guidance for both aspiring and current Korean language teachers.
The Teaching Note series consists of six episodes in total, released every Monday starting from the fourth week of March. On March 23, it shared teaching insights from Kim Yeon-ung of KSI Tashkent 1, Uzbekistan, followed Jeong Yeon-gyun of KSI Ljubljana, Slovenia, on March 30. Upcoming episodes will feature teachers from KSI Irvine, USA (April 6), KSI Center, USA (April 13), KSI Luxembourg (April 20), and KSI Yantai, China (April 27), each sharing their distinct approaches, teaching methods, and field experience.
