KSIF opens the 2024 Metaverse King Sejong Institute Speaking Classes

> Two intermediate-level Korean speaking classes specialized for the metaverse environment offered

King Sejong Institute Foundation (President Lee Hai-young, hereinafter KSIF) started the first semester of the Korean speaking classes in Metaverse King Sejong Institute in 2024 on Wednesday, March 27.

Metaverse King Sejong Institute(https://zep.us/@ksif) is a “real-time Korean communication platform” that allows Korean language learners worldwide to experience Korean language and culture without time-space restrictions. Anyone at the intermediate level who wants to take specialized Korean speaking classes in the Metaverse King Sejong Institute can enroll. The Metaverse King Sejong Institute Korean Speaking Classes consist of two courses: Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2, each lasting 90 minutes per session, twice a week, for a total of 8 weeks.

In the 2024 classes, lessons will be given reflecting the results of research on the basic model using the metaverse for Korean language classes conducted in 2023. Starting this semester, speaking assignment activities from the textbooks “KSI Practical Korean 3 (Intermediate 1)” and “KSI Practical Korean 4 (Intermediate 2)” will be modified and adapted to fit the metaverse environment. Learners will study all chapters of each textbook over the 8-week course.

After the classes, learners can participate in immersive classes in metaverse spaces that replicate the scenery of Korea, such as Hangang Park, Dongdaemun, and Gwangjang Market. Immersive classes will be conducted in real-time by qualified Korean instructors, utilizing activities such as OX quizzes, role-plays, and room escape games to engage learners.
