KSI Center France, Holds a Workshop to Enhance Capacity of KSIs in Europe

> 2023 Workshop for KSI operators in Europe held on October 19 (Thursday)

> Staff members from 21 KSI locations in 18 European countries gather together to seek development plans

King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter referred to as KSIF) successfully held the 2023 Workshop for KSI operators in Europe on Thursday, October 19 in Paris, France. 36 KSI officials involved in operation of 21 KSI locations in Europe, including KSI London, UK, KSI Gothenburg, Sweden, KSI Vilnius, Lithuania, etc., attended the workshop held in Maison de la Coree in Paris, and had a practical administrative training, shared cases of excellent operation, and discussed the ways to seek mutual development of KSIs in Europe to enhance the capacity of KSI operation.

The practical training was conducted by Shin Yeon-ji, director of KSI Center France, on the operation and budget of KSI. The training focused particularly on the support for dispatched teachers’ services so that common concerns of the operating body were resolved.

In the presentation of excellent KSI operation cases, two KSI locations shared their cases. KSI La Rochelle, France, introduced their case of securing excellent instructors by actively using projects supported by KSIF. KSI Brussels, Belgium, shared their case of lectures using cooperation with the local government. KSI Brussels introduced the result of achieving more than 1,000 learners per year within 3 years of being designated as a KSI, by operating a second foreign language at the local education office and public schools, and recommended working with government organizations to other KSIs.

Afterwards, participants had a discussion under the theme of “Development plans for vitalization of KSI Korean language and culture dissemination in Europe.” Through the discussion, the staff from neighboring countries listened to the opinions of other operating institutions and sought practical operation methods suited for local demands.
