KSIF attends the 29th Summer Workshop of the Korean Language Institute Council

On July 6, KSIF President Lee Hai-young attended the 29th Summer Workshop of the Korean Language Institute Council held at the National Hangeul Museum under the theme of “Changes in the Korean language learning system and the development direction of Korean language institutes.”
For this workshop, officials from Korean language institutes from about 50 Korean universities gathered three years after the COVID-19 pandemic to discuss the development of Korean language and culture education. The workshop started with a welcome speech by Director General Jeong Myeong-suk of the Korean Language Institute Council, followed by congratulatory speeches by Director Kim Yeong-su of the National Hangeul Museum, KSIF President Lee Hai-young, and a video congratulatory speech by President Ryoo Hyea-Sook of the National Institute for International Education.

In the presentations and discussions that followed, Prof. Tran Thi Huong of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Prof. Wang Dan of Peking University in China, Prof. Lee Dong-eun of Kookmin University, Prof. Shim Hye-ryeong of Pai Chai University, and Prof. Kim Jung-hoon of Hanyang University, etc. presented about the changes in the Korean language education environment in domestic and overseas universities and their operation cases.
President Lee Hai-young said, “It was a valuable opportunity to seek an efficient teaching methodology and the development direction of Korean language education in rapidly changing times with technological development.”
