A meeting was held between KSIF and the government delegation of Sharjah, UAE, the guest of honor at the 2023 Seoul International Book Fair, to discuss various cooperation plans.

First, on June 19, Marwa Al Aqroubi and Director Ali Al Shemmari of House of Wisdom in Sharjah visited KSIF, were introduced to the textbooks and contents of KSIF, and sought ways for the two organizations to cooperate on the textbooks and contents. At the luncheon, Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR), joined to discuss the direction of KSI Sharjah in the future, the development of textbooks, etc.

On June 16, Rowdha Al Qasimi, Director of Cultural Exchange, and Ali Al Ketbi, International Relations Executive, DGR, visited to talk about KSIF’s plan to expand local KSI and discussed details such as the roles of both DGR Sharjah and KSIF for the establishment of new KSI locations.

On June 19, Deputy Managing Director Yu-Jin Son of KD Navien and Senior Manager Song Chi-yong of Hangeul Nuri Foundation visited KSIF. President Lee Hai-young shared with Director Yu-Jin Son the purpose of KSI projects, the status of KSI operations worldwide, and major performances to discuss cooperation plans between the two organizations.

On June 1, President Lee Hyung-mo of Dongpo News visited KSIF. On this day, President Lee Hai-young discussed with President Lee Hyung-mo the operation performances of KSI and plans for KSI promotion for overseas Koreans.

The King Sejong Institute Foundation held its monthly meeting of company staff in Metaverse for the first time on June 5. This meeting was held to enhance employees’ understanding of the metaverse and to incorporate it into administrative work following the official opening of the Metaverse King Sejong Institute in February this year. As digital transformation is emphasized even in public institutions’ services, KSIF plans to keep pace with the rapidly changing digital environment.
