Now, in KSI
> Traditional Korean masks and fans drew the attention of festival-goers
> KSI and the Korean language were promoted to the citizens of Belgium
On May 7, 2023, KSI Brussels partook in the Festival Avenue de Tervuren, a local event held on Avenue de Tervuren in Brussels. Constructed by Belgium's first king, Leopold II, Avenue de Tervuren is a key thoroughfare in Brussels. Every May, the road is closed to vehicles to host a festival for the local residents.
At the festival, KSI Brussels displayed traditional Korean masks and fans for the attendees. Through an interactive activity that involved writing their names in Korean on the fans, visitors, especially children and teenagers, displayed significant interest in Korean culture and its traditional customs. Moreover, KSI Brussels distributed brochures advertising the Institute, encouraging people to maintain their interest in Korean culture after the festival.
In addition to taking part in this local festival, the institute will also attend “Made in Asia,” the largest event for Asian pop culture in Belgium, in September. Furthermore, KSI Brussels is planning to host its most extensive festival, “La Corée Arrive” in October, and will continue its efforts to introduce Korean culture to Belgium actively.
