KSIF held the ‘2022 KSI Scholars Presentation’ on December 5 (Monday) in celebration of the Foundation’s 10th anniversary at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The Foundation has been conducting a scholarship program for international KSI students since 2015. Included in the program are the Korean Speaking and Writing Contest, whose winners are given the opportunity to study Korean at universities in Korea, as well as a scholarship program, the beneficiaries of which receive a scholarship to earn a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Korean university.
This year’s ‘KSI Scholars Presentation’ was held to share with KSI scholars and relevant universities and institutions outstanding cases of the Foundation"s scholarship project. The event included a networking session among scholars and officials from affiliated institutions as well as a discussion session on the direction of mutual development.
The presentation featured △an introduction to the Foundation’s scholarship project, △delivering plaques of appreciation to the 31 affiliated universities and institutions, △a presentation on outstanding cases of the scholarship project, and △a networking session among participants. The Foundation also invited Paul Carver, an Englishman who has been living in Korea for 13 years, to give a special lecture on ‘Settling in Korea’ for KSI scholars who wish to settle in Korea. Paul Carver previously served as the head of the Seoul Global Center, which is run by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in order to help and support foreign residents as they settle in Seoul. International KSI scholars enjoyed the occasion, getting the practical information they need on settling in Korea.
The event was also broadcast live on the Foundation"s official YouTube channel (King Sejong Institute Foundation) for those who had been unable to join the event in person. The real-time broadcast was watched by global KSI scholars as well as KSI students who hope to be selected as future scholars, in addition to officials from relevant universities and institutions who are interested in the scholarship program.
