> Opportunities to participate in Korean language and culture
experiences for foreigners at Gyeongbokgung Palace.
KSIF (President Lee Haiyoung, hereinafter ‘Foundation’) hosted the
‘King Sejong Institute Jiphyeonjeon Korean Language Class’ in
celebration of Hangul Day, at Sujeongjeon Hall (previously
Jiphyeonjeon Hall) and Heungbokjeon Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, in
conjunction with the Gyeongbokgung Palace Management Office of the
Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palace Ruins Headquarters.
This event, which was held offline for the first time in two years due
to COVID-19, was hosted on October 7, 14, and 21, with about 25
participating in the event each day.
The agenda for the ‘2022 King Sejong Institute Jiphyeonjeon Korean
Language Class’ included a one-day Korean language class, a tour of
Gyeongbokgung, as well as a program on Korean culture. In particular,
this year’s event was hosted in connection with the ‘2022 Autumn
Palace Culture Festival’ (hosted by the Cultural Heritage
Administration’s Palace Ruins Headquarters, managed by the Korean
Cultural Heritage Foundation / 10. 1. - 10. 9.), offering more diverse
Korean culture experiences and attractions to those participating in
the event.
According to a spokesperson for the Foundation, “This year’s event,
which resumed after two years, was a meaningful occasion where
international visitors hoping to experience the Korean language and
culture could come and enjoy a variety of events in celebration of
Hangul Day.”
