Founded in 2012, KSI Hangzhou in China is co-managed by Korea’s Honam University and China’s Wuchan Zhongda International School. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, KSI Hangzhou provided Korean language courses to 150 students last year, and most of them were college students and workers of the city. This branch is investing its utmost effort based on the goal to become a leading KSI location in China, in spreading the Korean language and culture.

Last August, instructors at KSI Hangzhou sent their congratulatory messages to celebrate the 30 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and China. The video was shared on the official KSI Hangzhou account on WeChat to publicize the branch and celebrate this meaningful event. KSI currently has 20 locations in China, including this one in Hangzhou.

“As a Korean language instructor in China, I hope both countries will keep stronger relationships, just like the history of this country. Already, a lot of (Chinese) students are leaning Korean and many Korean students are coming to China to study. I hope that as time passes, people of both countries will be able to communicate with each other without having to use a translator.”

“Hello. I’m a Korean language instructor at KSI Hangzhou. August 24 marks the 30th year of Korea-China relations. A lot of people are celebrating this. And I feel grateful to be a part of this celebration. I’ve seen in news before that the process of establishing this diplomatic relations had been very difficult back in 1992. Although there was a rough start, I hope this partnership continues smoothly in the future. Thank you.”
