KSIF Newsletter jan, 2022 vol.103
KSIF Now May good fortune smile on you in 2022!

Hello to all members of the King Sejong Institute Foundation.
I am Lee Hai-young, president of the King Sejong Institute Foundation.

In this new year of 2022, I wish health and well-being to all of the institute's presidents, operating staff, teachers, and KSI students who will be welcoming in the new year in distant lands in Africa, Europe, America, Oceania, and Asia.

A beautiful language that grows brighter
as you polish it…

In the poem The Light of Words, poet Lee Hae-in described the words “I love you,” “Thank you,” and “Forgive,” as above. Just as we treat precious things with greater care, the more we cherish and love the Korean language, the more beautifully it will shine.

I look back at the last 10 years during which we dreamed of changes, by bringing together the hearts that love Korean language and culture, and disseminating our language and culture around the world.

As a result of the efforts and passion of all the institute presidents, operating staff, teachers, and the employees of KSIF, the 80,000 learners at 234 KSIs in 82 countries around the world are studying the Korean language and culture, getting closer to achieving their dreams. I convey to all of you my respect and gratitude for teaching and guiding the learners of KSI, like a light in the darkness and like a strong support.

I would also like to encourage all the students at KSIs around the world. I know about the efforts and passion of KSI students, some of whom walk more than two hours to attend a class at KSI and study day and night to gain a scholarship in Korean. I know how deep your love for Korean language and culture is. I wish I could meet all the students one by one and hold their hands to express my feelings. I will do my best to operate KSIF and support KSI to repay the passion of the members. Please stay with us and continue showing your support for the KSIF.

We may be in different places, but we all share one love and passion for the Korean language and culture. I wish all the members of KSI celebrate the new year in 2022, the Year of the Tiger.
Thank you very much!

Marking the beginning of 2022,
Lee Hai-young, President of King Sejong Institute Foundation
