King Sejong Institute Foundation will support Korean language education for Korean companies entering Haiphong in Vietnam.

The foundation signed on the five-party business agreements with Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, LG Display, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), and Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities on the 18th floor of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation at Seorin-dong Jongro-gu, Seoul on December 20.

Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, LG Display, ANZ, and Korea Employment Agency will donate a total of 90,000,000 won to the foundation under the agreement. The foundation plans to provide donations to KSI Haiphong, and operate Korean language education and Korean culture experience for employees and job seekers for Korean companies in Haiphong by using donations for KSI Haiphong.

Kang Hyun-hwa, president of KSIF said at the ceremony, “Vietnam is the hottest region for Korean language learning fever in the world and it has been influenced largely by Korean companies' expansion and investment”, and “we expect to create local employment by Korean language education and contribute to the sustainable development of the local community.”

Yoon Jong-bae, a general manager of innovation Business Department of Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, said, “I think it is more meaningful in that it is a social contribution through continuous education, not an event such as support of goods or a visit”, and “I expect that employees of small and medium-sized enterprises will receive substantial benefits and contribute to co-existent cooperation in the region with donations from large corporations and investment companies.”

The foundation will hold an opening ceremony in February after surveying the demand on Korean language learning for employees of Korean companies in the Haiphong, and operate Korean education in the space that KSI Haiphong and local companies provide from March.
