More than 100 Korean language teachers in Southeast Asia, “We shared how to teach Korean well!”
- ‘2019 Southeast King Sejong Institute Teachers Workshop” held in Hochiminh, Vietnam from November 5 (Tue)~9(Sat).
- More than 100 people who are KSI teachers from 21 institutes in 7 counties of Southeast Asia and Korean language teachers recommended by the Korea Foundation participated.
King Sejong Institute Foundation held ‘2019 Southeast King Sejong Institute Teachers Workshop’ at KSI Center Vietnam located Hochiminh for 3 days from November 6 (Wed).
The foundation held this workshop to strengthen professionalism and promote interchange for KSI teachers. Besides Kang Hyun-hwa, the president of KSIF and Wee Joonseok, Deputy Consul-General, Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea, more than 100 people who are KSI teachers from 21 institutes in 7 counties of Southeast Asia such as Jakarta Indonesia and Chiang Mai Thailand and Korean language local teachers recommended by the Korea Foundation participated in the opening ceremony at 10:00 am on 6th (Wed) in local time.
The teachers participated in the retraining curriculum of Korean language and culture such as ▲ a case presentation of curriculum operation ▲ practice lesson with contents bundles of KSJ ▲ KSJ achievement assessment practice. In particular, the foundation reflected the demands of teachers in advance and composed the programs combining effective speaking and writing assessment method for Korean learners and Nuri-KSI contents that everyone can use easily in the classrooms. We, especially, invited Korean language teachers who were from Viet Nam University and recommended by the Korea Foundation and had time to interact with the teachers of KSI.
Kang Hyun-hwa, the president of KSIF said, “As the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-Korea Dialogue Relations this year, it is significant that we opened the venue for the exchange of Korean language teachers in Southeast Asia area at KSI Vietnam. We’ll continue to hold teachers’ training programs to strengthen expertise for the teachers of KSI and Korean language teachers of the related organizations.”
