Frequently used expressions at office and business knowledge are included.

A free online course for students who study Korean to be employed in Korean companies has been released. King Sejong Institute Foundation presented ‘Business Korean course’ on March 19th on ‘Nuri-Sejong Hakdang website (www.sejonghakdang.org)’, a hub site for Korean language and culture.

In 2017 KSIF developed ‘Business Korean 1~2’ textbooks and this year it has released ‘Business Korean course’ in conjunction with the textbooks. This is to enable self-study for learners around the world whenever and wherever via ‘Business Korean’ textbooks and online lectures.

‘Business Korean course’ contains Korean expressions and business knowledge that are needed to work in an organization such as how to prepare a job interview for a Korean company, respond to a phone call, and report writing. The course consists of 48 units in the same way as the ‘Business Korean 1~2’ textbooks. Each unit is structured with an introduction, vocabulary, expression, grammar, speaking activity, and practice. A 10-minute video for each unit will be posted twice a week. Professor of Ewha Language Center at Ewha Womans University, Hyunjin Kim, the writer of ‘Business Korean 1~2,’ and Park Soo-yeon, professor of Korean language department at Sejong Cyber University Korean appear on the videos to explain the lessons.

Director of KSIF Hyounhwa Kang said, “People around the world are learning Korean for various reasons such as studying abroad, employment, or immigration,” and she added, “With a start of ‘Business Korean’ we plan to further develop Korean language contents for special purposes to meet the demands of diverse Korean learners.”
