South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and King Sejong Institute Foundation have opened KSI Center, Vietnam that will direct and support KSIs in Vietnam and also become the hub for promoting Korean culture in the country.
On February 26th, the foundation held the opening ceremony of KSI Center, Vietnam at Diamond Plaza (Unit 606, 6th Floor, Diamond Plaza Building 34 Le Duan Str., Dist. 1, HCM City, Vietnam) in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Jae-hoon Lim, Vietnamese Vice Minister of Home Affairs Lam Hung Tan, President of Ho Chi Minh Federation of Korean Commerce Heung-soo Kim and Korean educators in Vietnam attended the event.
KSI Center, Vietnam, which has been directly established by KSIF, will support 14 KSIs in Vietnam and plans to train local teachers, dispatch Korean cultural experts, and publish Korean textbooks. KSIF hopes that the center will enhance the professionalism of its Korean language education institutes in the region and contribute to promote Korean culture actively.
KSI Center, Vietnam will collaborate with the Center for Korean Studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and will hold various Korean cultural events for the students of KSIs in Ho Chi Minh City and the general public who are interested in Korea. In addition, in cooperation with CJ ENM, it plans to support content creators working in Vietnam to use creative studios for them to film contents related to Korean language and culture, and also provide scholarship programs for Korean language learners.
