KSIF selected Korean language faculty to be dispatched to KSIs across the world in the first half of 2019 and conducted a domestic training from December 10th until 20th in order to strengthen their specialty.
‘Training for Korean language faculty of overseas dispatch’ is a training program for Korean teachers to enhance their professionalism before they are dispatched overseas. 33 Korean teachers who underwent the training will be dispatched to 33 KSIs in 22 countries.
During the training they underwent an online and offline training on KSI management and educational administration: ▲KSI management ▲practice teaching of Korean language class ▲ practice teaching of Korean culture class ▲safety and healthcare abroad.
In addition, the teachers also participated in Korean cultural classes held in Jeonju, such as calligraphy, traditional kite and macramé craft workshops. The foundation plans to provide teaching materials for the faculty to utilize the knowledge and experiences gained through cultural experience classes after they are dispatched to KSIs.
"The demand for professional Korean language teachers has surged as the demand for Korean language education has been increasing all over the world," said Director Hyun-hwa Kang from KSIF and also added, “The foundation will provide continuous support to improve professionalism of Korean teachers."
