The first Korean language teacher has been dispatched from the KSIF to the Korean Culture
Center in Spain.
In Spain, there are currently two KSIs under operation: one at the Korean Culture Center in the
capital, Madrid, and the other in Las Palmas, an island in the Atlantic Ocean. At these two
institutes, local Korean language teachers had been conducting Korean classes but, for the
first time this year, a teacher was sent from the Foundation to start activities on site.
The KSI at the Korean Culture Center in Spain has expanded the spectrum of classes by newly
opening temporary courses such as special vacation lectures in addition to regular curriculum
already in operation, thus providing more options for Korean language students in Spain.
Also, to meet the students’ various learning purposes and demands, additional classes on
Korean conversation and Korean aptitude test prep will be established.
Chae Suhee, Director of the Korean Culture Center in Spain, stated, “We hope that the quality
level of Korean language and culture education will take a step forward with the dispatch of a
Korean teacher.”
Lee Jong-eun, the dispatched teacher, revealed strong ambitions, saying, “I would like to
conduct a variety of classes tailored to the levels of Korean language students in Spain based
on my understanding of the standard educational curriculum of the KSI during my time as a
KSI teacher.”
