‘Vocabulary Study App’ Launched for Korean Language Students
Distributed a free ‘Vocabulary App’ that supports three different languages (Korean, English and Chinese) through app stores
In March, the King Sejong Institute Foundation will unveil a mobile app (hereinafter referred to as “App”) for Korean language students.

The King Sejong Institute Foundation developed an App that helps students learn the Korean language easily on their mobile device at all times, responding to the mobile phones commonly used worldwide and in consideration of some countries where the Internet system has not been developed.

The Vocabulary App contains 1,700 vocabulary words selected from Sejong Korean Basic Curriculum (Books 1-4) and Sejong Korean Speaking Basic Curriculum. 900 of the vocabulary words are provided along with pictures so that students can guess the meaning even if they don’t know the Korean word. Learning is composed of the four stages of ‘seeing, reading, writing and listening’ and allows for the collection of pictures and culture cards to motivate students to learn more Korean vocabulary.

The Vocabulary App supports Korean, English, and Chinese, and is available for a free download at Google Play and Apple App Store. For countries with low internet download speeds, the App is offered directly at the KSI along with ‘Nuri-Sejong Hakdang Contents Package.’

The King Sejong Institute Foundation hopes that more and more people interested in learning the Korean language will become aware of the King Sejong Institute by using the Vocabulary App. The King Sejong Institute Foundation plans to prepare a Smart Learning Structure by developing and supporting apps that provide Korean language lectures and Korean practice lessons (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, conversation, etc.) in addition to teaching vocabulary.
