KSIF held a opening ceremony for ‘Nuri Friends’ that will help promote ‘Nuri-Sejong Hakdang’ (www.sejonghakdang.org), a leading brand of online Korean language and culture, at a conference room in the foundation’s headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, June 24.
For the 3rd batch, 15 members were selected, including 6 foreigners from Guatemala, Russia and Azerbaijan. ‘Nuri Friends’ is going to design and make online PR materials for Korean language and culture such as ‘Practical Korean Conversation’ and ‘Daily Life of Korean People’ for 5 months until November 25.
The foundation is going to pay for their efforts and give prizes to the best members or groups. Gerchin Catherine (22, Female), who studied at the Moscow branch in Russia and is now studying at the Department of Korean language at Kyunghee University, said, “My dream is to help Korea and Russia to share their contents and culture. By being a member of ‘Nuri Friends’, I can communicate with people of various nationalities based on the common theme of ‘Korean language and culture. It will be a great stepping stone for me to achieve my dream.”
KSIF has been operating the ‘Nuri Friends’ program since 2014 to raise its profile worldwide. A total of 30 members had joined the program by last year.
