KSIF Successfully Holds 2022 KSI Cultural Internship Program Briefing Session

  1. KSIF has been spreading Korean culture across the world since 2013 by appointing approx. 130 KSI Cultural interns
  2. An online & offline event for university professors and officials engaged in Korean culture and art.

KSIF (President Lee Haiyoung) held KSI Cultural Internship Program Briefing Session at the Education Room of foundation on May 30.

Since 2013, the foundation has been dispatching around 130 “KSI Cultural Interns” in partnership with Korean universities to spread Korean culture and arts to overseas countries. Cultural Interns are students who major in Korean culture and arts. They complete a training session in Korea before being dispatched to KSI around the world to offer systematic cultural courses for the students.

Through this program, the interns can obtain credit from their universities and get a chance to take an in-depth approach to their specialties and teach them. KSI students can also gain an organized learning experience of Korean culture from those who are specialized in each field.

KSIF will be recruiting 45 KSI Cultural Interns majoring Korean culture and arts (K-pop, Korean calligraphy, Korean film/drama and traditional music) between next July and August and start a training session for them in Korea. Once this session is finished, the interns will be sent to 34 KSIs in 26 countries starting from September.

The session took place at the Education Room on the 7th floor of KSIF on May 30, with 47 online and offline attendees who are professors and officials from 30 universities offering Korean culture and arts major courses. The program started with an introduction of the foundation’s key projects and KSI, followed by details of the internship including △the purpose of project, △roles of each institution, △process and △case studies.

President of KSIF Lee Haiyoung said, “KSI Cultural interns are future experts with teaching skills and there is a high demand for them in local KSI sites.” She added, “Our foundation plans to increase the number of interns dispatched through a closer cooperation with Korean universities.”
