KSIF (President Lee Haiyoung) offers a fare discount for the AREX express train* to the members of Nuri KSI (nuri.iksi.or.kr) as part of a collaboration with Airport Railroad Co., Ltd. (CEO LEE Hu-Sam, hereinafter “AREX”). This service starts on Monday, May 30 in an effort to promote visits to Korea.
* AREX express train: A non-stop train route between Seoul Station and Incheon International Airport.
Nuri KSI is a website dedicated to the Korean language and culture, provided by KSIF. Students and faculty of KSI as well as anyone in and outside Korea who are interested in learning the Korean language and about the culture are welcome to join the membership. The number of members reached about 400 thousand by the end of 2021.
KSIF and AREX signed a business agreement in April 2021 to promote Airport Railroad transportation and Korean education, followed by a continued discussion on ways to leverage assets of both entities.
The train fare discount project will contribute to widening the potential visitors of Korea and invigoration of Nuri KSI.
The discounted express train tickets are available via a dedicated online ticketing system on Nuri KSI at about 15% off price. Check Notices on Nuri KSI (nuri.iksi.or.kr) for more information on access to the online ticketing system and how to book the tickets.
An official of KSIF said, “We hope that this ticket discount becomes a vitalizing energy not only for students and the faculty of KSI traveling back and forth Korea and overseas, but also for the travel industry, which had suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
