The KSIF held the “2022 KSI Vietnam Workshop” over a two-day period from March 29 to 30 at Vietnam Center KSI in Ho Chi Minh City in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the KSF and 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Vietnam at the KSI Ho Chi Minh City. Over 70 KSI staffers joined the event in a blended format that included both face-to-face (F2F) and non-face-to-face (NF2F) sessions.
This year’s workshop focused on ways to localize Korean language teachers and build their capacity in order to meet local needs. Participants shared their experiences in changes in local demand for Korean language education in comparison to teacher availability. They also discussed the direction for effective Korean language education and further development despite the shortage of teachers amidst the Coronavirus crisis.
On the first day of the workshop on March 29, there was a certificate awards ceremony for five teachers who had completed the local teacher training course, along with a presentation on the policy direction for KSF Korean language teacher capacity-building given by Lee Gyu-rim, director of the Vietnam Center KSI. On March 30, there were presentations on KSI best practices and business plans for 2022, in addition to special lectures on Korean businesses in Vietnam and the local workforce recruit project.

With the 2022 KSI Vietnam Workshop as the beginning, the KSIF plans to continue to hold the workshop until the end of December in collaboration with KSI and related organizations at home and abroad.
